 Mr. Shem

Founder/Executive Director

 

About Mr. Shem

Mr. Shem started his music career at the age of 4 when he first touched a piano while living in the Philippines. With 30+ years of experience over a wide range of genres, Mr. Shem has both compositional, and instructional background serving as composer, music producer, choir director, director of music and private instructor. Graduating from Brooklyn College with a B.S. in Business Management and Finance, he has combined love for music and passion for entrepreneurship to create Keys 4 Success. It has become his life’s mission to be a staunch advocate for affordable and accessible music education as a means to increase the cognitive capacities in children as well as provide tools that promote positive social and emotional health.

 

Fun Fact: Trained to play classically, Mr. Shem has also taught himself to play by ear, a skill he encourages his private students to develop as they recreate their favorite music!

About Ms. Mona

Ms. Mona started her musical journey at the age of 7 with the piano and violin at 12. The practice and discipline has always guided her in her studies, graduating from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in International Studies and Microbiology and a Masters in Public Health from New York University. Ms. Mona joined the Keys 4 Success team in 2014 serving as the program manager for the foundation.

Fun Fact: Ramona PLEDGES that she makes the best Banana Pudding recipe and is still in search of finding one better than hers!
